OxfordHost information:

OxfordHost.co.uk was established in late December 2003. Essentially we saw far too many hosting or 'web solutions' companies that lacked a real focus on customer care. We became frustrated with the lack of support and waiting times with many of the companies competing on price but not on caring for the client. Hence, OxfordHost chooses to compete on a higher level and to serve our customers first.

The affordability and price:

We built OxfordHost from the bottom up as if we were a client. Infact, we have been clients of other companies and this is the result of our frustration with them. What are the things we needed and wanted from our host? It is these fundamentals that have driven every aspect of OxfordHost.co.uk. Hence we offer hosting plans that start at just £3.99 with advanced tools such as PHP, MySQL, Private CGI, PHP-MySQL Forum, Shopping carts, mailers and much much more.

The personal touch:

Support and service - the world demands both in almost every aspect of life. Too many hosting companies ignore this important aspect of the business and as a result, you feel let down. Examples of this in our day to day work include: never automatically suspending accounts (except when legally obliged) and always contacting our clients before making changes to their account.

The Technology:

Our services are located in the NAC datacentre. NAC's connections to multiple backbone providers and peering with many on a regional and international basis allows them to reasily reach remote networks even in the case were a NAP may be unhealthy or when a specific backbone is down. It also allows NAC to be an intelligent agent with regards to traffic routing. If they are trying to reach a remote network which is on the Sprint network, there's no reason to send it all the way to UUNET first (for example). This also allows for 'ahead thinking' with regards to the time it takes your data to get from your site to your visitor.

By placing their core nodes at places like Telehouse and Equinix, we are guaranteed a level of competent service. All of NAC's core nodes employ SONET networks, which gives dual-redundant, counter-rotating ring technology which in the event of a fiber cut, SONET heals itself automatically. NAC also divides our circuits among several providers such as Verizon, MFS/Worldcom and Adelphia.

Honesty and Integrity:

At the core of OxfordHost is also the honesty and integrity of its operators. There is far too much sugar-coating and plenty of outright deceit on the internet. For us, being honest with our clients is the norm.

I would say that 99.5% of webhosts do not run their own datacentre. Our providers come into the estimated 0.5% that do. It would certainly be remarkable if the hosting business was as honest in this respect as we are.

The stability of service:

OxfordHost is a 100% debt free hosting company. We never incur debt, in any respect. We pay ahead for services pertaining to our business. This factor is vital in the stability and reliability of our service.
